How to read these results
- Topics: posts from specialised accounts (restaurants, sports, entertainment, fashion and so on) count under the account's field. Posts from news and general accounts are classified from their text with keywords. Each post gets one topic.
- Above usual : a topic whose share in the region is at least one and a half times its share across Syria, with 10 posts or more. We do not put this mark on local news or public affairs.
- News climate: the share of posts from news accounts that contain political or security wording. We show only the level (calm, moderate, sensitive), not the content of those posts.
Limits of the sample
- The sample covers posts from 1 to 14 September 2026, and its last days included a wave of fuel news.
- Regions with few non-news accounts (such as the Coast, East and South) show a higher share of local news.
- This is a sample of accounts in the network, not everything published in Syria.
- The news-climate indicator is meant to warn you about awkward timing. It is not guaranteed to improve post performance.
